San Diego Private School Curriculum
The Bonita Country Day Curriculum is based on strong academics. Our parents expect a fine education for their children and we take that expectation very seriously. Our programs foster communication and cooperative skills children need in order to work as part of a team, as well as cognitive abilities and imagination they need to become problem solvers and independent thinkers. We are, "Teaching students how to think, not what to think,"
Our class sizes are intentionally small in order to allow teachers the time and opportunity to meet the individual needs of each child. The curriculum is implemented to encourage active, hands-on approach to learning. Advance planning at each grade level helps to maintain continuity of the curriculum. Teachers assess studentsí progress and can then revise the curriculum to suit the studentsí needs accordingly. There is also enough flexibility in the curriculum to respond to the spontaneous learning situations which occur. Varied teaching strategies strengthen instruction and flexible groupings maximize learning. Integration throughout the curriculum makes learning fun, ties class work to the studentsí real world and develops abilities that last a lifetime.
